ToolzKit does not set tracking cookies. It stores three small preferences in your browser's local storage, which you can clear at any time. This page explains the difference and what would change if cookies were ever introduced.
Cookies we set
None. ToolzKit sets no first-party tracking cookies, no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. Because there is nothing to consent to, the site does not show a cookie banner. A banner that asks permission for nothing is noise, not transparency.
Local storage instead
Local storage is a small area of your browser reserved for this site. Unlike a cookie, its contents are never attached to network requests — they stay on your device unless the page's own JavaScript reads them. ToolzKit uses it for three things:
- toolzkit:theme — the word 'dark' or 'light', so the site opens the way you left it.
- toolzkit:recent — up to twelve tool identifiers, so the command palette can offer recently used tools.
- toolzkit:favorites — the tool identifiers you have starred.
What is never stored
Tool input is never written to storage. Text, code, files, passwords, tokens and hashes exist only in the page's memory while it is open. Nothing you paste into a tool survives a page reload.
How to clear it
The All Tools page has buttons to clear your favorites and your recent history individually. To remove everything, clear site data for toolzkit.online in your browser settings — in most browsers this is under Privacy, then Cookies and site data, then a per-site view.
Using private or incognito browsing also works: storage in those windows is discarded when the window closes. The site remains fully functional if storage is unavailable; it simply forgets your theme and lists.
Third-party cookies
The tools make no third-party requests, so no third party can set a cookie through them. If you follow an external link from a guide, the destination site's own cookie practices apply from that point on.
If this changes
Should analytics or advertising ever be added, this page will be updated before the change goes live to name the provider, list the cookies or identifiers involved, describe their purpose and lifetime, and explain how to refuse them. Where the law requires consent, consent will be requested first rather than assumed.
